1.5.2) Free Medical Treatment in any Hospital
Free Medical Treatment under Section 397, BNS
According to section 397 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, no private or government hospitals can charge fees for the treatment of rape victims. All hospitals, either private or public, shall immediately provide first aid to the victims free of cost.
?? Penalty for Non-Compliance
If any of the hospitals, demanded a fee for the treatment of rape victims, then they shall be punished under section 200 of BNS (non - treatment of the victim) for up to 1 year & shall be liable for a fine or both.

This right ensures that rape victims receive immediate medical care without any financial barriers. Both private and government hospitals are legally bound to provide free treatment and first aid to rape victims.
