Financial compensation for injuries and losses suffered due to domestic violence
What is Monetary Relief?
In addition to other forms of relief, the Magistrate may, upon an application filed by the aggrieved woman, pass an order directing the respondent to pay monetary relief. This relief is intended as compensation and damages for the injuries suffered by the woman.
Coverage of Monetary Relief
Physical Injuries: Compensation for physical harm caused by domestic violence
Mental Torture: Damages for mental torture and psychological distress
Emotional Distress: Compensation for emotional suffering and trauma
Related Losses: Financial losses incurred due to the domestic violence
How to Apply
The aggrieved woman must file an application with the Magistrate requesting monetary relief. The Magistrate will assess the circumstances and determine the appropriate amount of compensation.
